Apex ALD stuck "CLOSED"

Just purchased a gently used ALD unit and and 2 solid detectors. After finally figuring out the programming (I believe) and testing a few times, one detector would not return to "OPEN" after drying off. Now both are staying in open position. Could these be broken and/or could water remain inside the detector (I half submerged them)?

If you submerged them, then yes, they could stay closed as there is a circuit board with the lead traces that act as the sensor side on the bottom of it. There are soldered wire connections on the upper side of the board under the plastic cover. They aren't designed to be submerged and my guess is that there is still moisture on the top side of the board causing the connections to short/close. I would use a hair dryer or compressed air to blow it out and let it dry. In the future, all you need is a wet paper towel to test them. I place them on the floor in a dry paper towel for normal use.

Did you submerge them ? If so I would take the cover off and clean them.
