But they aren't out yet, right? No link. All Tunze skimmers being sold still show what is clearly a Sicce.

I'm not at all sure why people say the Sicces are noisy. Mine are dead silent. Other issues, perhaps. Noise? Not compared to any other skimmer pumps I've seen and used.

i had a couple of the coralvue sicces and they had machined NW's that sounded like a train wreck.they came out with a moulded NW that is more balanced and quieter.that said the modded laguna i have on my large cone makes less noise than the sicce IMO.

I am running a I-Tech Large on my 300g. It has the Laguna 1500 motor. I just pulled some quick dimensions oon it and the height is 24" and it has a foot print of 16"x12". I have a kill a watt on the way so i will get those numbers as soon as it comes. I will also try to get my hands on a air meter too.

Here is a pic when i ran it on my 72g after 3 days and this is also after replacing a Euroreef RS250 with it.

And a pic taken tonight with it running on my 300g that has only had fish in it since yesterday. This is also about 3 days of running.

I have the same as Billy, the pics just above, and I'm thrilled with it. It's in the 300 Rubbermaid reef and I feed HEAVILY!!! The cup is filled with dark skimmate every 3 days.
I paid about $800 for mine.

I too have always considered the gallon rating for a skimmer as something that needed to be almost doubled.

Therefore, I initially bought the large and it is an absolute beast capable of effortlessly handling a few hundred gallons imho. When John specs his skimmers, he is being modest with their rating. My sump was just too small for it to have enough room to operate safely despite my modifying, errr... butchering. So, I ended up with a medium and am very satisfied.

And, I completely agree with McNeil. The large with the laguna style pump is almost completely silent. All you can here is the water moving. And, it is indeed, quiter than the Sicce on my medium. No complaints with the Sicce as it is a relatively quiet pump, the silence of the large is just difficult to believe when you see it in action.

Even , My extra large with the Dart Gold pump is very quiet . For the size , and performance of this monster , I can hardly believe how quiet it is .

I agree also. My large with the Laguna is in the 300 Rubbermaid reef about 15 feet from me and all I hear is the water gurgling out of the skimmer drain.

Lovin mine too. Just got it a couple days ago and I'm really impressed with a few things. It produced skimmate FAST although I had the level inside the skimmer too high. The skimmate was pretty wet. I like the flow coming out of the return moving the sump water vigorously. Als like the fact that there is zero microbubbles coming out of it. The way it's made so that bottom comes off so the entire cone is cleanable.

I think I have the level inside the skimmer figured out now. This is 24 hours worth. There is enough in the huge collection cup to fill my old skimmer. And it would have taken my old skimmer a week to produce this much/thick skimmate.

here is a video i took last night of the large with laguna 1500 pump.you can hear that it is very quiet and see it has a nice stable foam head.i borrowed a meter that goes to 25 lpm and it pulls it off the scale so im not sure on the air draw until i borrow a larger meter.

here are a coulpe of pics before i emptied the cup,thos is 3 days worth on my 60g BB system(lightly stocked)

The 300 Rubbermaid reef is no more and everything, including the skimmer is now part of the 300 Marineland. I built a stand for the skimmer from 1/2" pvc and eggcrate and put it in the sump.

Small Cone Physical dimensions are 22" in height with a footprint of 8 1/2" x 6 1/4". An extra 3/8" clearance is needed for collection cup removal.

I understand that doesn't include the pump, but what about the outlet?

No info on the outlet, i never got into details about it. A cone skimmer for $200, you can't beat that......

Wow that's a great price, I may have to order one of these. I'm sure the pump from my DAS would be sufficient if I can figure out how to hook it up without making it unusable on the DAS again.
