Microbubbles
Are microbubbles dangerous to tank inhabitants or just make it look hazy?

It is my understanding that they are harmless.

Do you have microbubbles? If so post a photo of your setup and maybe someone can help you stop them.

I had a problem with microbubbles until I got a sump with baffles. Do you run a sump, hob skimmer?

I do run a HOB skimmer (Prizm, which is notorious for bubbles, but it is all I have for the time being...). I don't actually have many bubbles in the DT right now. Water is quite clear. I do get them from time to time, however. Not sure the cause, in all honesty. I am running the Prizm on the sump, and I do have baffles. To stop them a bit, I put a piece of plexi in front of the return pump which works as kind of another baffle.

We can't really give you advice on how to stop them if you don't know the origin, but as I mentioned in the original message, I have some microbubbles in my system (barely noticeable), and I have had many more in the past without adverse effects. THat being said however, that is before I started keeping sps, which may or may not be more sensitive to air. Sorry I can't help further!

@Frenzy No problem! I understand. I will try to find the cause and then ask advice. Just glad they aren't a hazard to the fish I have in the tank!
Next order of business is to get a new skimmer! |

Filter sock could also help on the output of the skimmer.
