Denadai, do you mean acropora hyacinthus, don't you? Kallium/jod in small doses and xtra improve the colour, but surely you know that. I read your threat on RC and I see you add and Koral color, so you needn't use anything else. Don't be so impatient and give some more time to your corals, they are that young. They improved a lot in comparison to their previous appearance. You can also replace one T5 with a tube that gives warmer lighting, e.g. KZ fiji purple or ATI actinic.

Hi Lunar,

Yes, is the hyacinthus red, I love this coral but never had luck with. I will wait and I will keep my routine, lets see in a couple of months if I get better color

Im using one 250W MH with 4x T5, Im thinking in a powermodule from ATI with 8x 24W and take off the 250W MH

What do you think the setup below ?

3 x Blue Plus
3x Aqua Blue Special
2 x Fiji Purple

Best Regards

Denadai, some aquarists don't like T5 lighting for lack of shimmering. Are you sure that you won't long for it?
By the way your combination of T5 is good for me.

Hi Lunar

Very nice, one of my favs.

Do you have a plenum on your deep sand bed ?

What brand of baling salts do you use?

Did you notice a big difference when using mineral salt ?

What improvements did mieral salt bring ?

sorry to quiz so much, but I need to learn from the best

Thanks in advance

Vince

Thanks, Vince.

Starting zeo I already had DSB that had cooperated with a previous method. My tank has ran both of them (zeo + DSB) over a year and although everything has looked fine so far I decided to get rid of DSB. For two months I keep removing sand bit by bit during water changes. My goal is to have only decorative layer of sand.

When I added solutions for two-part method at the beginning I had trouble with keeping stable levels of Ca and kH. That's why I started using NaCl free salt, it seems to give me more stable parameters.

Thank you, Rodrigo_BG.

As you can see the layer of sand isn't the same everywhere, it's 3-6 cm deep now.

Just saw this tank post. Wow. Gorgeous. Just curious, what were the reasons you switched from ecosystem to zeovit?

Leng Sy is a friend of mine, I could always give him some feedback. (for the record, I don't use ecosystem, I use IO NNR - previously vodka)

Very nice! I relise that with Zeo less is more but I'm very surprised with your relatively low doses in comparesion to your water volume. I run a 200l net and have the near same dosing amount of zeo elements. Do you find the KZ skimmer playing a role in your dosing because it is not as agressive in stripping elements from the system?

I was also using Zeovit, but after six months of using, I completely stopped, I realized that my corals getting darker in color. I do not know is this normal effect of Zeovit, or did I done something wrong. Below is my dosing schedule for my 115 USG tank.

Daily dose:
Randy two parts
Calcium chloride - 120ml
Sodium bicarbonate - 120ml

ZeoSupr2 - 4 drops daily
ZeoStart2 – 4 drops daily
Coral vitalize – 4 drops daily
Amino Acid – 4 drops daily
Pholxtra – 8 drops daily
After three month of using Zeovit I split the dose, half in the morning and half in the evening.

Weekly dose:
Magnesium Chloride 5ml
Magnesium Sulfate 5ml

ReefBooster – 1 vial
Biodigest – vial

Biweekly:
Stronti + - 1 vial
Iodi + - 1 vial

Aquarium parameters:
Alkalinity: 9.9
Calcium: 380 mg
pH: 8-8.3
Magnesium: 1180 mg
Temperature: 26 C
Po4 (Phosphate): 0,02 mg
No3 (Nitrate): 0 mg
Salinity: 35 PSU
Density: 1.026

Any suggestion! It will help to understand Zeovit more.

Frankly speaking, there was no real reason to give up ecosystem and I was happy with that method. My nature must be tricky and hungry for changes. I wanted to try a method that was considered to be difficult and which I wasn't familiar with.

The skimmer has nothing in common with my low doses. I think that such doses are sufficient for my tank. I always prefer adding less than more, considering the fact that my corals react to that very well.

Red Dragon 8000 l/h as a return pump, two Turbelle Stream 6105 and two Iwaki MD 55 (in loop - I don't know whether I translated it well, hope you understand)

With regard to your doses, it's hard to say something for me, because I don't follow rules of zeo originators. I would be afraid to add such large quantities, but I only take my private view. Amino Acid 4 drops daily - maybe this is,among others, responsible for darkening your corals.
First of all be watchful when you use powders for Randy two parts, they must be really of high purity. In my opinion magnesium sulphate isn't a good idea, it's considered needless now.
You could increase mg level a little and I don't like your ratio Ca:alk (too low Ca, too high alk).

Best regards,
Krzysztof

It would be better you came to Warsaw in Poland. It's only about nine hours of flight.

In the next tank? ..... rather in the current one. I changed the method a month ago. I use NP reducing biopellets now
